NAHSE is a national association that dates back to 1968 and was founded for the purpose of promoting the advancement and development of Black healthcare leaders, and elevating the quality of health care services rendered to underserved communities. The Connecticut chapter aims to support initiatives and programming focused on promoting health equity, creating career pipelines within healthcare organizations and enhancing educational advancement to the community.
Since the chapter’s inception in 2013, NAHSE CT has made significant progress in the areas of Professional Development, Community Engagement & Service, Advocacy, and Networking. Through focusing on collaborative programming and partnerships with organizations such as the National Association of Hispanic Nurses, Urban League of Greater Hartford and many others, the chapter was awarded “Chapter of the Year” and “Program of the Year” at the 35th and 34th Annual NAHSE National Education Conference, respectively.
So be a part of something great and join NAHSE today! Membership is open to graduate students, early, mid-level careerists, senior leaders and C-Suite executives across the healthcare sphere.
