The Connecticut Hospital Association (CHA)’s Vice President of Advocacy, Karen Buckley and Senior Vice President of Government and Regulatory Affairs, James Iacobellis, will be presenting in a panel format on a variety of topics including the following objectives:
About Our Speakers:
Karen Buckley has served as the Vice President of Advocacy for the Connecticut Hospital Association since July 2015. Prior to that she served as Director of Government Relations. Karen works to establish CHA’s advocacy direction while creating the goals, strategies, and tactics to drive the leadership commitment outlined in the Association’s Strategic Plan. She leads and coordinates initiatives and collaborations with external groups, including state agencies, on joint advocacy, education, and relationship-building activities. She is responsible for advocating for legislative and regulatory improvements on behalf of member hospitals and their patients. Additionally, she is team leader for the Connecticut Healthcare Association Collaborative, a coalition of five Connecticut healthcare associations that work together to improve public policy and the quality of care for patients across all healthcare settings.
Jim Iacobellis, Connecticut Hospital Association’s Senior Vice President of Government and Regulatory Affairs, represents Connecticut’s acute care hospitals and other members before the Connecticut State Legislature and state agencies. He also advocates on behalf of Connecticut hospitals before Connecticut’s Congressional Delegation and with federal agencies. In collaboration with hospitals, Jim develops legislative priorities and coordinates CHA’s legal and policy research on legislative issues affecting hospitals and healthcare.
