What was your first job in healthcare? I started in the education department as a coordinator. This position was a wonderful introduction to healthcare as it touched every single person and department throughout the organization. It allowed me to understand in greater detail individual roles and how it all connects. I managed the online learning education platform for yearly competencies, new hire education and onboarding, and specific certifications such as BLS/ACLS.

Being innovative around the staffing shortages and continuing to advocate around reimbursement as the cost to provide healthcare keeps increasing. Always questioning and challenging how healthcare is delivered and ensuring the focus remains on the patient.
What drove you to pursue Fellow status? When I was researching future roles I aspired to be in, the FACHE credential always stood out. It was from that point that it had been on the list as something I wanted to obtain.
What do you believe is the greatest benefit you have gotten from being an ACHE member? Networking and continued education. When I moved from California to Connecticut 7 years ago, our local chapter was the first thing I looked into as I didn’t know a single person.
