Marc Brunetti is a highly skilled and accomplished healthcare executive, currently holding the position of Chief Operating Officer with the Eastern Connecticut Health Network. Prior to joining ECHN, he assumed many executive roles including Vice President of Operations and Administration, Administrative Director of Support Operations, Patient Care Services Nursing Director, and Director of Cardiovascular Services at Yale-New Haven Health System/ Bridgeport Hospital. His diversity of experience has allowed him to become a “big picture” executive, recognizing the integrated relationship among all functional units of a medical center.
Marc has achieved substantial progress by recognizing the challenges of government mandates, managed care, lower reimbursables, and increased competition. His response has included the use of goals and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), with a focus on improved clinical outcomes, cost efficiencies, productivity improvement, leaner operations, growth initiatives, and profitability. Marc has also developed strategic planning and marketing initiatives to increase referral rates, enhanced community outreach and improved the branding/messaging of the hospital as best in industry.
Marc’s leadership style includes cross-functional team facilitation, change management, technology enhancement, lean operations, team empowerment, and ownership and accountability for results. He has created a true team environment by building consensus and support for shared goals. This approach is combined with real-time analytics to form a baseline for continuous quality improvement. Marc earned a Master’s degree in Healthcare Management from Sacred Heart University, and a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and Accounting from the University of Bridgeport.
