What did you want to be when you grew up? Shortstop for the New York Yankees.
Who is a person past or present whose leadership you admire?
Gary Havican- he is the current president of Hartford Healthcare Central Region, I am always amazed with his leadership and ability to influence. Gary has been my mentor my entire healthcare career and always offers meaningful advice.

A successful day at work is: Knowing the work I am involved with is having a positive impact on the patients and community we serve.
What is an achievement you enjoy sharing? I am the proud father of two beautiful girls.
What do you do for fun? I enjoy spending time with my family, I have two young daughters that keep me busy! I also love to golf!
What motivates you each week? My wife and Daughters.
What book are you reading or podcast are you listening to right now? Right now I am currently completing my MBA and studying for the board of governors exam, so that is where much of my free time spent.
What do you think are the greatest challenges/opportunities for Connecticut’s healthcare industry to tackle in the next 10 years? 20 years? I believe the greatest challenge for Connecticut healthcare industry will be the constant workforce challenges especially in nursing. The nursing shortage is real and relying on alternative methods I.E contract labor to help fill vacancies is not sustainable.
Why did you decide to be a board member? ACHE has opened many of doors for me since graduate school and I greatly value my membership and experience. I have always been involved with board committees and events, thus deciding to join the board allowed me to leverage my experience to help continue to drive value to our membership.
What do you believe is the greatest benefit you have gotten from being an ACHE member? The opportunity to network and learn from leaders across healthcare both locally and nationally. I have developed an invaluable network of colleagues through ACHE.
