Happy Summer! CT Association of Healthcare Executives welcomes & celebrates 41 new members whom have joined our chapter since January. Congratulations to new ACHE fellow John Sponauer, FACHE. I was honored to be able to attend and participate as a judge for the University of New Haven Society of Healthcare Administration MHA program mock event “Healthcare Administration Case Competition via the 17th Annual UAB Health System.” The case presented by each of the teams focused upon Palliative Care on Friday, April 28. On Monday, May 1 I participated as a judge for a second group of MHA students at the University of New Haven virtually, on a mock case. I would like to recognize and thank Prateek Mansingh, and Dr. Pavani Rangachari, PhD, Professor & Director of the MHA Program at UNH for inviting me.
CTAHE held their 8th Annual Golf Outing & Celebratory Dinner on May 23. This year’s golf outing was a great success with over 140 golfers (it was sold out!) and a celebratory dinner with chapter sponsors in attendance. Robert M. Weiss did a wonderful job planning and organizing this year’s event and I am thankful to all the volunteers, attendees, and sponsors.

CTAHE offered some excellent educational opportunities in June, such as the virtual program “EMS Mobile Integrated Health”. Upcoming events include NAHSE CT 5th Annual Healthcare Leaders Scholarship & Fundraising Dinner July 21 at Casa Mia on the Hill in Newington, CT. Two virtual events in August are planned regarding cybersecurity: on August 15, “The Hidden Threats” and August 29, “Employees are your biggest threats”. The ACHE Chapter Leaders Conference, titled “Bold & Brighter Together” will take place in Chicago at the Blackstone Hotel on September 10 and 11. This is a great opportunity for chapter board leaders and Regents to spend time learning with our ACHE national leadership team.
In closing, I am looking forward to the District 1 Regent Meeting on July 26 with our ACHE Governors Michael K. Givens, FACHE and Karen F. Clements, RN, FACHE. I always enjoy speaking with my fellow Regents and learning about great ways to support the present and future healthcare leaders in some of the most challenging but rewarding times in our profession.
“Everything good, everything magical happens between the months of June and August.” Jenny Han
Warmest regards,
Kim
