I have officially entered my last year of my term of Regent for Connecticut, which ends in
March 2025. If you are interested in learning more about being a Regent and my
experience, please don’t hesitate to contact me. ACHE’s Council of Regents is made up of
leaders elected by their districts to represent their members and influence the greater good
of the organization. With an understanding of ACHE’s policies, programs and services, and
the needs of their districts, the Council harnesses their collective skill and will to advance
ACHE’s vision, mission and values. In addition to providing advice and counsel to the Board
of Governors, the Council also has the important responsibility of electing the Board of
Governors and its Chair. It is through the Council’s governance support that the Board of
Governors can steer our national organization and carry out ACHE’s mission through a rich
ecosystem.
Here are a few important details regarding the Regent election process:
– All candidates must complete the Letter of Intent and submit it
to elections@ache.org by Friday, September 13. No late submissions are accepted,
even in areas where no candidate is received by the deadline.
– Each candidate must be a Fellow in good standing as of September 13.
– For geographic Regent Areas, candidates must live and work in the Regent
area they will represent.
The 2024 Chapter Leaders Conference will be held September 29–30, at the Swissotel in
Chicago. ACHE looks forward to providing an interactive and engaging experience that will
help chapter leaders connect and learn.
Congratulations to CTAHE members for receiving ACHE Leader Service awards; 1 Star

Distinguished Service Awardees: Christine S. Cooper, FACHE, Alessandra Cornelio,

Higher Education Committee Member until 2027, Ysmael A. Peguero, DBA, FACHE,
Higher Education Committee member until 2027 and Joseph S. Savage, DO, FACHE
Physician Executive Community Committee member until 2025.
In closing, I am looking forward to the District 1 Regent Meeting on July 22 with our ACHE
Governors Michael K. Givens, FACHE and Solomon A. Torres, FACHE. I always enjoy
speaking with my fellow Regents and learning about great ways to support the present and
future healthcare leaders in some of the most challenging but rewarding times in our
profession.
Please feel free to visit the CTAHE website for all upcoming events.
